Queen Palms In Arizona   602-309-2000

Specialist in Feeding Queen Palms

Queen Palms, when taken care,  will create a beautiful lush landscape.

Queen Palms
are mainly from  Brazil by the ocean where they get an ample supply of needed nutrients.

In Arizona, with Caliche soil those nutrients are lacking and need to be supplemented for the health and beauty of the Queen Palm.
The hard soil also Eliminates oxygen from reaching the root system.

To stay on top of your Queen Palms they should be fed 2X per year to give the added nutrients that are missing.

Cutting Edge personnel are trained
with the different conditions that effect Queen Palms such as:

Cold Injury (foliage necrosis, "phytophthora" (bud rot) and Manganese deficiency.
Collapsing Crowns: Palms have only one growing point called the "meristem" - the single shoot in the center of the crown. If this turns brown or collapses, the palm has died.
Different needed Nutrients and problems:
Manganese Deficiency
Potassium Deficiency
Magnesium deficiency
Watering Problems
Fronds stay tight
, Lack of Zinc creates what is called "ladder leaf". Fronds do not unfold properly.
Root Rot: "Pythium Blight" Too Much water as a result of heavy soil or poor drainage-resulting in loss of older leaves and brown soft roots. (Healthy roots are cream colored and hard. It's a good idea to let Palms go dry between watering.

My neighbors Queen Palms always look shabby and brown with pointy leaves, one top fell over, whats wrong with them?
Without looking at them to give an accurate evaluation most likely the Palms were not fed or not fed regularly. The Palms nutrient needs were not met.

Can these Palms be fixed?
Without look at them I couldn't say for sure sometime they are to far gone resulting in removal, but many times when put on a feeding program the trees will survive and again turn into a beautiful, lush, green tree that you and your neighbors would be proud of and  enjoy.

My HOA has Queen Palms at the pool and around the property, can you take a look at those too?  We take care of many Hoa's, Apartments Hospitals, Office Complexes, Private Business and Developments. Just have the person in charge call me to come out and give them a Free analysis and Estimate.

Do Date Palms need Fertilizer too?
Yes, D
ate Palms are a very expensive tree. When transplanted, Date Palms have their roots cut, often sit in hot weather while be transported from one place to another, they are changing from one type of soil with nutrients to another with different nutrients and suffer a lot of stress.
Date Palms, can suffer from lack of nutrients as well. They will suffer from a Manganese deficiency, Potassium deficiency as well as other deficiencies. It's best to keep your Date Palms on a feeding plan to help insure their health and longevity.

My Queen Palms look great, can I skip a couple of years of deep Root feeding?
1)
At a young age Queen Palms aren't using as much nutrients as when they get older, but they still are using more than our Arizona soils have available. Queen Palms need to be fed from 1 year on, every year so they don't become sick later.
2)
When Queens get older they require more nutrients some Queens look good on the outside but are hurting on the inside, the lack of Nutrients are festering up and you may just see the crown collapse and the Queen Palm just die.
3) Look at your Palms
A
On your older Queen Palms are the Trunks fat, skinny than fat again? Could be a lack of fertilization.
B Do you have small Fronds?
C Do you have brown dot on yellow leaves?
D Does the center look like a ladder
E Does some or all of your fronds have a pointed look to them
F Are the Fronds Yellow
